Oil Change Stickers of the Past – Examples

To see examples of Vintage Oil Change Stickers that were placed on the door jambs or the door itself.

In most cases it would be used to record the mileage at which the oil was changed.

Modern day stickers only say when the oil is due to be changed next.

Manufacturers are now saying how many miles to put on before changing oil under “Normal” and “Severe” conditions.

Oil change services probably use the “Severe” mileage to be on the Safe side.  But with a range of 5,000 miles for severe and 7,500 for normal you could get more value by making the choice yourself, if you had the mileage when last changed.

So, it seems that knowing the mileage at the last oil change is important information but it is now missing from most oil change stickers.
